PHOTOSHOOT 1
Throughout this photoshoot, I asked each of the models to wear the clothes they normally would and do their hair and makeup as they usually would. I wanted to capture their authentic selves within these images. I have levelled the images in photoshop and converted them into black and white, but I did not retouch any perceived 'flaws' out of the images as I wanted them to be raw and be a true representation of them. Unlike the highly edited images that are produced in magazines that can create unrealistic standards for impressionable people.
PHOTOSHOOT 1 DEVELOPMENTS - DIGITAL COLLAGES, PHYSICAL COLLAGES, TEST STRIPS AND DIGITAL NEGATIVES
In these developments I have used digital collages and physical collages to reflect the distorted reflections of ourselves that are created through social media and the distorted versions of ourselves we present on social media. I have also experimented with digital negatives, by inverting my images and printing them on acetate. I then created a test strip experimenting with different amounts of light. After this I then used light sensitive paper in the darkroom, placed the acetate on top and exposed it to light for 14 seconds. Finally, I developed the light sensitive paper, placed it in a stop solution, then in a fix solution and in the water bath for 10 minutes.
